Necrotising periodontal diseases can present with significant morbidity and, whilst unusual, they are not entirely uncommon in primary care. With this mind, members of the dental team should be aware relatively recent changes to classification and management these optimise patient outcomes. Similarly, understanding bacteriology, patterns tissue breakdown, maintenance conditions will allow clinicians manage present. The progression necrotising Sub-Saharan Africa as noma is also discussed. objective help reader understand diseases.
